About us

CMYK Industries is based in Midrand and works with print shops across South Africa and neighbouring countries. We supply specialised digital printers, transfer machinery, toners and media for short-run colour work, with practical support from first setup through to ongoing production.

A Midrand team built around real production needs

CMYK Industries started in 2008 with a simple idea: print shops need more than a box dropped at the door. They need the right machine, the right consumables, and support from people who understand garment decoration and label printing in day to day production. From our Midrand base in Johannesburg, we work with businesses from Sandton to the East Rand, Pretoria, the West Rand and farther afield into Southern Africa.

Our team is led by Thabo Mokoena, with Naledi Khumalo handling sales, Johan van der Merwe on technical support, Ayanda Ndlovu leading customer success, Ridwaan Ismail focused on production systems, and Lerato Maseko coordinating operations. That mix matters. It means a customer can speak to someone about equipment choice, another person about setup, and another about the realities of keeping a line moving when orders stack up and power interruptions hit at the wrong time.

We have grown by staying close to the work. Print shops want honest advice, quick answers and equipment that earns its keep. That is how we have built our name, one install and one repeat order at a time.

Specialised equipment for short-run colour work

Our focus is specialised digital printers, transfer machinery, toners and media for garment decoration and label printing. That includes equipment for short runs, colour matching, sample production and production batches where consistency matters. We also help customers plan around the stock they use most, so they do not get caught short on media, toner or consumables when a run is booked for Monday morning.

Many of the shops we work with need reliable output on a range of materials, from textile transfer applications to label stock with clean detail and accurate colour. We pay attention to the practical side of the job, such as humidity near the coast, dust in industrial areas, heat in production rooms and the strain that load-shedding puts on sensitive equipment. Those conditions affect print quality and uptime, so the machine choice has to suit the environment, not just the brochure.

How we support setup, training and daily production

We do not stop at supply. Our services include machine installation, operator training, preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, colour calibration, media profiling, printhead care, remote support, consumable planning and workflow advice. That means we can help a customer from the first unpacking to the daily running of the line.

In practical terms, this often means showing operators how to handle media properly, when to clean a printhead, how to check alignment, and what to watch for before a small issue becomes a costly stoppage. On colour critical work, we help clients keep output consistent across repeat jobs so a reprint does not waste time or material. If a machine is down, we look first at getting production moving again, then at preventing the same fault from coming back.

For many businesses, a good support plan saves more than it costs. A missed shift because of a small fault, or a run that fails colour checks, can eat into margins quickly. We work to reduce those risks in a practical way, not with fancy talk but with proper follow through.

Service areas that reflect how South Africa prints

Our base in Midrand gives us access to the main Gauteng industrial routes, but our service area is wider than one city. We supply and support customers through Midrand Support, Sandton Supply, Pretoria Supply, East Rand Supply, West Rand Supply and Southern Africa Supply. That reach matters because print businesses do not sit in one place, and neither do their customers.

We regularly work with operators who need turnaround times that suit retail deadlines, school uniform seasons, promotional campaigns and label orders for fast-moving goods. Some clients operate in cities with stricter municipal requirements around waste handling or workshop compliance, so we help them think through practical issues such as ventilation, power protection and safe storage for consumables. A well set-up room keeps people safer and machines happier, simple as that.

The way we work with customers

We prefer clear communication, sensible recommendations and steady support. Customers come to us with different levels of experience. Some are opening a new print room and need help choosing the right setup. Others already have operators in place and want better uptime, better colour control or more predictable consumable use. We adjust to the customer, not the other way around.

That approach also means being honest about fit. Not every machine suits every application, and not every workflow needs the same level of automation. We would rather guide a client toward equipment that matches their volume, substrate and budget than push something that looks impressive but creates problems later. This is where the technical side of our team adds real value.

Our customers know they can ask about installation timing, operator training, spares, maintenance routines and stock planning before making a decision. That kind of conversation saves time and helps keep a production room organised. It also builds trust, which is worth a lot in this industry.

Values that keep the business grounded

Our values are practical ones. We believe in quality equipment, reliable service, straight answers and respect for the pressures that print shops face. A customer running urgent colour work cannot wait three days for a vague reply. A business managing staff, orders and power cuts needs solutions that make sense on the ground.

We also believe in building long term relationships. Many of our clients return because they know we understand their process, their timing and the type of output they need. That is why we put effort into after-sales support, not just the initial supply. When a shop grows from one machine to several, or moves from general print work into more specialised production, we want to be there through that change.

In the end, our job is to help print businesses produce better work with fewer interruptions. If that means a new install, a better media choice, a cleaner maintenance routine or a quick remote fix, we are ready to help.
