Book Installation

Arrange machine setup and commissioning with our technical team in Midrand, Johannesburg. We handle positioning, calibration, operator handover and practical checks so your print line is ready for daily work.

Tell Us What You Are Installing

Start with the machine type, media you will run, site address and the work you expect it to do. A garment decoration printer has different setup needs to a label printer, and the install plan should match your daily volume, substrate widths and finishing process. If you are working in a busy shop in Sandton, a factory in Pretoria or a warehouse in Midrand, we can plan around your floor layout and production hours.

We also need the basics that affect commissioning: power supply, compressed air if required, internet access for remote support, and any access restrictions for after-hours loading. If your site is in an industrial park with strict delivery times or lift access, tell us upfront so we can arrive prepared.

  • Machine model and number of units
  • What you will print, transfer or finish
  • Site address and loading access
  • Power, air and network details
  • Preferred date and time for installation

What Our Installation Team Does On Site

Our technical team arrives to position the equipment, check levels and make sure the machine is safe to power up. We then carry out the first setup, verify firmware or control settings where needed, and confirm the machine is reading media correctly. For colour work, we check print consistency and basic calibration so you start from a clean baseline.

Where the job includes transfer machinery, we confirm heat, pressure and dwell time settings against the material you are using. For label printing systems, we check feed path, registration and output quality. If your operation sits near the coast or in a humid storeroom, we will flag storage points for toners, films and paper so moisture does not affect output.

  • Positioning and initial machine checks
  • Power-up and safety verification
  • Basic calibration and test output
  • Media loading and feed path checks
  • Operator handover on the installed unit

Commissioning For Short-Run Colour Work

Short-run production needs repeatable results from the first job, not after a week of trial and error. During commissioning we focus on the settings that matter most for colour consistency, media handling and day-to-day throughput. That includes alignment, density control, pass settings and any workflow steps that help your team move from file to finished print without unnecessary stoppages.

We also look at consumable use so you do not over-order the wrong toner, media or maintenance items. If you are running mixed jobs for garment decorators and label clients, we can talk through a practical sequence for changeovers. Small shops especially benefit from getting this right because one bad setup can hold up the whole day and waste stock.

Training Your Operators Before The First Production Run

Installation is not complete until your team knows how to use the equipment properly. We provide operator training on starting the machine, loading media, handling daily cleaning, and spotting warning signs before they become breakdowns. This is especially useful where staff rotate between shifts or where one person covers printing, packing and dispatch.

Training can include printhead care, colour checks, media profiling basics and what to do during a load-shedding event. In many Johannesburg and Pretoria sites, power interruptions are part of normal operations, so we show your team how to shut down and restart safely. The aim is to reduce wasted material and keep the machine productive, even when conditions are less than ideal.

  • Starting and stopping procedures
  • Daily cleaning and inspection points
  • Safe shutdown during power cuts
  • Basic fault spotting and escalation
  • Consumable handling and storage

Site Readiness Before We Arrive

A smooth install starts with a prepared site. Clear the floor space, confirm table height or machine base height if needed, and make sure the route from delivery point to production area is open. If your premises are in Midrand, East Rand or the West Rand, we often work around shared loading bays and security sign-in, so it helps to have those details ready.

Check that the electrical supply matches the equipment requirements and that there is a stable, clean area for consumables. If your municipality or landlord has noise, ventilation or waste handling rules, let us know so we can plan the setup properly. A few small checks before arrival can save hours on the day and prevent costly rework.

  • Clear access from delivery point to installation area
  • Confirmed electrical supply and sockets
  • Space for operator movement and maintenance access
  • Secure storage for toners, media and spare parts
  • Any site rules on waste, noise or ventilation

Book With Midrand Support And Follow-Up Care

Once the machine is installed, our Midrand support team can stay involved with preventive maintenance, colour calibration, remote support and breakdown repairs. That matters if your shop serves clients across South Africa or into neighbouring countries, because production deadlines do not wait for a convenient fault. We can also help with consumable planning so you keep the right stock on hand and avoid last-minute shortages.

Our team works from Midrand and supports customers in Sandton, Pretoria, the East Rand, the West Rand and wider Southern Africa. If you need machine installation for a new site or a replacement unit, send your details to hello@cmykindustries.co.za and we will help set a practical commissioning plan. Thabo Mokoena and the technical team will make sure the handover is clear, and your operators know what to do next.

Questions we get asked

What details do you need before booking an installation?

Send the machine type, site address, expected application, power details and preferred date. If there are access limits, loading bay rules or after-hours requirements, include those too.

Do you install outside Johannesburg?

Yes. We support print shops across South Africa and neighbouring countries, with installations arranged from our Midrand base depending on the site and equipment.

Can you train our staff on the day of installation?

Yes. We include practical operator training so your team knows how to run the machine, handle daily care and deal with common issues before production starts.
